The future is where we will spend the rest of our lives. Therefore, the Prophetess player character from the basic game.
I tried to do an object source light with the crystal ball. But shades are not right and the end result looks too chalky to me.
But I love the sculpt, from Reaper by Werner Klocke.

Nobody Expects The Inquisitor
This scarlet menace of the heretics is the Inquisitor player character from the Dungeon expansion.
The mini is from Reaper by Bobby Jackson. Originally he had a clean shaven face. But I kept thinking about these two fellows.
Charlton Heston as Cardinal Richelieu in the greatest Three Musketeers adaption of all time.
Cardinal Ximénez of the Spanish Inquisition, naturally.
So I had to green stuff the face of this man of the cloth with a beard and moustache. Turned out ok.

Klaatu Barada Nikto, Or The Necromancer
The Necromancer player character from the Expansion set is one of the more fun characters with his abilities to charm spirits into followers and stealing other players' playing turns.
The mini is from Reaper by Gene van Horne. I went with the colour scheme of
the original artwork and tried to add sourced light coming from up and front, perhaps a lightning flash. But still, I haven't dared to use stark enough contrasts.

Beware Of Dragons, For They Are Lazy
Another dragon, this time a basic dragon enemy from the basic game.
The mini is a Citadel Green Dragon that came in boxed set with a dwarf adventurer.
I didn't paint the beast (or the dwarf) now, the paint job is 15-20 years old. I just added the base, the thing was very prone to tipping over.
What was supposed to be a charred tree stump turned out looking like a smoked cigar..

Every Formation A Parade, Or A Marine Squad With Support Droids
I actually painted all of these guys at the same time.
The marines are from Reaper by Bobby Jackson and the battle droids are oldies, Grenadier power armoured troops from early 90's.
Not a big force, but enough for a small skirmish game.

Heavy Gear, Or The Battle Droid
I painted the rather powerful follower from Timescape, the battle droid, at the same time as the space marine.
The idea was that if ever got around, I could use them in some skirmish games as part of the same force.
The mini is an old Grenadier power armoured trooper. It originally came with a 2 cm slotta base, but I think it looks a lot better on a bigger base more suited for it's mass.

Another Glorious Day In The Corps, Or The Space Marine
The Space Marine player character from Timescape is your average Warhammer 40k space marine (tm).
But what I was thinking was more like this:
So what I ended up with, with a Reaper sculpt by Bobby Jackson, is this:
A grey base for the fatigues, then I painted the camouflage with black and green. A black wash and lighter grey highlights. Simple, fast and effective enough for me.
