The Talisman Project Explained

I enjoy painting miniatures, but I like also to have a goal or some sort of plan as to what I paint. So I took the Talisman board game 2nd edition from 1985 and decided to paint a full set of gaming pieces inspired by the game.

I say inspired, because most of the time I will be making no special effort to convert the minis or to match the paint job to the original art work. So it is not "Now I'm going to paint the werewolf from Talisman," but more like "Hmm, Talisman has a werewolf in it. I'll see if I can find a cool werewolf miniature. Now, what would be a interesting theme for a werewolf? Maybe a desert theme, with the lycanthrope coloured more like a coyote than an arctic wolf? Sounds like fun, I'll do that!"

And, yes, I know there are actual official miniatures for the player characters. But since there are no official minis for everything, and I have no intention of following the original artwork, you probably won't see any of them here.

Anyway, here is a list of what I've done so far (the links), and what I plan to do eventually listed by the card type from each expansion. There may several copies of certain cards or the card may represent several creatures, so I am will aim to do that many minis. There may also be more than one version of a single card if I feel like I want to redo some pieces.
