A Whiter Shade Of Pale, Or A Guide

There are two Guide followers in the basic set, who keep you safe in a couple of squares. Here is the first one.

I am posting retrospectively and looking back at this guy I realize what went wrong. Way too much white pigment. The end result is pale and chalky with the richness of the colours gone. Damn. And I painted more than one like this. Seems that my learning curve is very wavy indeed.

The Warrior

The Warrior player character from the basic set.

My version is a Reaper mini by Jim Johnson.

The beard is green stuff, I thought it essential that he have a beard like in the original artwork. I'm not quite happy with paint job. Especially the values of purple on the tunic and trousers are all over the place. Still, sometimes lousy and finished is better than perfect but incomplete.

The Gnome

This crafty little fellow is a follower from the basic game. His usefulness is in getting through the mines in the inner region. After that, you meet the vampire, who demands lives or followers. So many a stalwart gnome has ended their days as sacrifice to the undead.

The mini is from reaper, by Jason Wiebe. I'm quite happy with the way he turned out.

Make My Day, Or The Honest Deputy

This scrupulous officer of the law is an event from the City expansion. Immediately he brought Sam Vimes to mind.

The Dancing Girl

A follower from the City expansion who is useful for distracting your enemies.

She is from Reaper by Patrick Keith.

Can't Stop Here, This Is Bat Country, Or The Vampire Bats

These pesky vermin from Talisman Adventure just won't die. If you defeat them, they just fly off to infest another space. Plus they leave you wondering, if you should have gotten that rabies vaccination.

Mine are a plastic swarm from Reaper by Werner Klocke.

The base is done with the same colours as the Zombie Dragon's in my previous post because I thought of maybe building a small undead army from what I am painting for my main Project.

The Zombie Dragon

A spirit enemy from the Dragons.

My version is kind of white for a zombie. The skinny horror is from Reaper by Kevin Williams.

This time I took some wip pics.

At first especially the wings seemed very fiddly, but with a bit of drilling, they fitted very snuggly and because the pieces are light, the beast holds together very well.
