The Dwarf

Believe it or not, I haven't completely abandoned my original idea of painting minis for Talisman board game. Here's an old citadel dwarf to represent the, well, dwarf, from the basic game.

The Ghoul

Taking a break from piracy, I shortly went back to the original Talisman Project and did one more character, an all time favourite, the Ghoul:

Donkey One

For some reason the next thing I started working on was the baggage train. A cute little pack donkey from Foundry.

I shall count him towards my quota of mules for Talisman as well.

The Warlock

The Warlock resides on the main Talisman board. Sometimes you just stumble upon one of the eponymous talismans you need to win the game, but often one is acquired by taking up a quest from the Warlock. When the Timescape board is in play, the alternate reward for completing a Warlock's quest is to be sent to the Timescape, where you can collect all sorts of powerful items, without them being constantly nicked by other players.

The wonderful metallic representation is from Reaper by Bobby Jackson. He will also double as a wizard for my Warhammer army.

Horse and Cart

From the Adventure expansion, the mightiest object in the game, the Horse and Cart! This item allows you carry an unlimited number of objects, meaning you can stack bonuses and be prepared for any number of circumstances, not having to discard objects which are less likely to become useful. The Horse and Cart is very sought after and often stolen by other players.

Despite having done years of miniature painting (almost 10 years, counting the teenage years), this was the first horse I've ever painted! 

Combining this noble animal with these guys here, I've got myself a baggage train for my Warhammer army.

On with the foot knights. A board feature, the black knight, shan't let you pass without a duel.

Bear(s)

The bear, an animal enemy from the basic game, I did three.

Foundry minis again. It's great that they do ranges of normal animals and civilians, In my opinion, adding these really livens up any project with just the chance to paint furs and other different materials, but also with what goes on in my head as I paint, because the thoughts of the fictional world and the personality of the the mini are going around in there. That's why it's so refreshing to paint a normal bear instead of that tenth foot knight every once so often.

The Press Gang

An enemy from the City expansion, the Press Gang, will try to make a sailor of you.

Metal minis from the wonderful Wargames Foundry Pirates & Swashbucklers range. With the basing I was obviously thinking more "pirate" than "Talisman City".

A Porter

First of the two porters, followers from the Adventure expansion.

Drunken Soldier

An enemy from the City expansion. The card type is a "monster enemy". Shows what too much drink can do to the best of us.

The Lion

An animal enemy from the basic game.

Another Foundry mini, he came with gladiator from my previous post with three other gladiators I'm still working on. I added the helmet (a morion helmet from the plastic Warlord Games ECW infantry)  on the sandy ground to tie the beast in with the rest.
